BHC Auxilliary Annual Rodeo BBQ

Broadwater Health Center Auxiliary members are gearing up to hold the annual rodeo barbeque at Memorial Park in Townsend on Sunday, Aug. 7.  The family and friend event will begin at 11:00am when Auxiliary members and Broadwater Rural Fire Department members will serve up roast beef and all the trimmings.

Crimson Bluffs Presents Hugh Grinnell

On August 11 the Crimson Bluffs Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail Foundation will sponsor a Hugh Grinnell presentation at the Broadwater Library Community Room at 7:00pm.

Hugh Grinnell will present "The Exploration and Discoveries of George Bird Grinnell: The Father of Glacier National Park".

August Slice of Summer: Bigger and Better

The Townsend Slice of Summer is a family oriented summer event sponsored by the Townsend Rotary, Townsend Area Chamber of Commerce, Broadwater Community Development Corporation,Townsend Lions Club, Townsend 4H, Elkhorn Community Fellowship  and the City of Townsend.  The Slice of Summer event is held the third Thursday of June, July and August at Heritage Park in Townsend.

Life in the West website - a Trinity Vandenacre website

Trinity Vandenacre has created a website called Life in the West ( dedicated to REAL stories of life in the historical west and to current life in the west for those looking to move to Montana.

The stories feature local historical figures and sites and well as articles about living in the West - specifically in Broadwater County.

Willa Bean Coffee Opens

Willa Bean Coffee is now open serving a full array of coffee and tea drinks.  Willa Bean Coffee is located at 7687 Highway 287 in Townsend (next to Broadwater Ford and in front of Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic).  Alyssa Oakes says "follow us on Facebook and see what we are up to!".

Chamber 4th of July Community Picnic draws hundreds

More than 200 people attended the Fourth of July Community Picnic enjoying the food, kids games and the company of friends and neighbors.  The Townsend Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event and the entire community was invited. Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chips, Salads, Deserts and soft drinks/water were served at the event.

Walleye Tournament Reels in Big Fish

The Broadwater County Walleye Tournament sponsored by the Townsend Area Chamber of Commerce was held June 25 and 26. This year there were 144 teams participating with 15 adult-child teams and 24 mixed couple teams.  This year featured a new score board created by Tri County Counter Tops, run and managed by Matt Zeadow who also manages the Walleye Tournament.
